I curate two Spotify playlists. When I update them I write short two-line reviews here. Sometimes the reviews are three lines. The rules are not strict.
Artist: Rachel K Collier
I’m not sure if I should call Rachel’s music electronic, pop, or alternative. “Dinosaur” mixes a great hook with experimental production and an infectious beat. Really nice.
Track: The DropOut
Location: Amsterdam, Netherlands
I don’t know if evoH is man, woman, or child. The lofi Hip-hop producer’s bio on Spotify simply says, “Beats”. Good enough for me. evoH has been on the Chill playlist before, because I like evoH’s chillout jazzy sound.
Artist: Carina T
Track: Inside Your Mind
Location: London, UK
I previously wrote a full-length review of Inside Your Mind, here. In a nutshell, it’s a great pop/rock song, performed by a talented singer, about the mysteries of the inner-workings of a loved-one’s mind. And now, Carina is on Spotify!
Location: Nashville, TN
Betcha is a young band that sounds like they’ve been at this longer than is chronologically possible. Delivered with excellent musicianship and a legitimately great voice, ‘Coincidental’ takes a side-eyed view at a less-than-genuine friend/lover.
Track: Whiskey and Wine
83Vibes is a producer and beat maker. He set the right mood for my mindset with a lofi beat, a little keys and guitar in a groovy loop. Dig?
