I curate two Spotify playlists. When I update them I write short two-line reviews here. Sometimes the reviews are three lines. The rules are not strict.
Artist: Motel Radio
Track: M.I.A
Location: New Orleans

Like a sort of dream-pop Everly Brothers, Motel Radio breathes beautiful harmonized melodies into their airy, psychedlic, jangly-guitar alternative music.

Artist: Marcella Wolf
Track: Old Love
Location: USA

Marcella says he produced this lofi groove to, “remember the things that used to make me happy.” The chill melancholy beat and acoustic bass do the trick.

Artist: Day Gold
Track: Your Heart is a Clock
Location: Pensacola, Florida

I love this tune’s sparse arrangement of a simple acoustic beat, a high-strung guitar, and a bass that somehow manages to be simultaneously mellow and distorted. And somehow the lyrics are both morbid and inspiring. Cool stuff.

Artist: DaFoo
Track: Heroine
Location: Switzerland

This is a crazy little song that changes pace and genre all over the place. It’s fun. But I think I really liked it because it’s kind of sweet.

Track: A Loner’s Man Heart
Location: Netherlands

So we close out this update with a little EU Jazzhop. I really dig the guitar in this one. Also, the snare has some cool delay hapenning.
