I curate two Spotify playlists. Sometimes, when I update them I write short two-line reviews here. Sometimes the reviews are three lines. The rules are not strict.

Artist: Justy
Track: Try
Location: Staten Island, NY

Justy creates such a cool hybrid vibe on “Try”. The lo-fi, Hip-Hop, Jazz groove sets the scene for her chill Macy Gray meets Amy Winehouse vocals. I couldn’t decide which playlist to add Justy to. So, I added her to both.

Artist: Emzae
Track: As this Day Fades to Another
Location: UK

I’ve been a fan of Emzae since she first appeared here on StaticDive.com back in May. I think she has leveled up on her new song “As this Day Fades to Another.” It is funky, catchy, and confident. It sounds like a hit.

Track: Moving On
Location: Germany

There is a sweet melancholy to this tune. The melodic jangly guitars remind me a bit of Echo and the Bunnymen. And the sincerity in Samira Christmann’s voice had me hitting the rewind button, repeatedly. Also… cool band name.

Artist: Seico
Track: Imagine
Location: Germany

“Imagine” is a really tasteful mix of samples and live instrumentation. It has a nice international vibe. And the professional production really belies fact that the artist Seico is just a teenager. Good stuff.

I dig the experiemental, ambient, Brian Eno feel to this piece. Also, I am pretty sure this is the first appearance of a Russian artist on the list!
