Laura Cheadle

Laura Cheadle is a critically-acclaimed singer/songwriter who has been wowwing critics and her devoted fans with her authentic organic sound and multi-genre explorations for over a decade. As a solo artist and with her musical family she has performed with some of the biggest names in popular music. The list includes the likes of; The Jonas Brothers, Sister Hazel, Spin Doctors, John Oates/Hall and Oates and Clarence Clemons III for Bruce Springsteen’s After Party.

Since her 2006 debut, Laura has released six studio albums and a handful of singles. In that time she has won numerous awards, including; “Best Indie Jazz/Blues Band” at WXPN sponsored Tri-State Indie Music Awards, “Musician Of The Decade 2020” for Elephant Talk Indie Music Awards, selected as one of “100 Women We Love” in Go Magazine and declared a “Super Woman” in South Jersey Magazine. Laura’s sound ranges from Folk to Jazz and from Pop to Blues. She has cultivated a unique neo-retro niche in the music industry, marked by soulful vocals and virtuosic musicianship.

“Shine This Lifetime” is the latest single and video from Laura Cheadle, released worldwide to all major streaming services on May 18, 2021. This time the singer has set her soulful vocals and cool analog vibe to an uplifting Disco groove. On the track Laura is joined by her father James Cheadle, himself a renowned stage and studio musician who has worked with everyone from The O’Jays to DJ Jazzy Jeff. He produced and engineered the song at the family’s New Jersey recording studio.

The two Cheadles lay down an infectious organic dance jam with soul-inspiring lyrics. Over a funky and natural mix of drums, bass, piano, organ and guitar, Laura encourages us to grab the bull by the horns. Seize the day, find your bliss and rock on. With a vibe that is one part Donna Summer and one part Janis Joplin she sings, “Everyone’s gonna tell you what they want you to be. Baby’s I got news for you, you’re allowed to be free!”

I wrote this song during quarantine when everyone around me was feeling down. It is about the inner voice inside you learning to just SHINE. I want fans to smile when they hear this song and to be instantly inspired to follow their dreams!
