
Amartya Paul is an 11 year-old composer and multi-instrumentalist with a resume that would be the envy of artists decades his senior. He has performed on the world’s most prestigious stages, including Carnegie Hall, the Royal Albert Hall and Paris Philharmonie. The classically trained musician incorporates multiple different styles and genres into his original compositions.
A protege of the esteemed musician, composer, teacher and Grammy grant recipient Kia Portafekas, Amartya began his studies when he was just 6 years old. Previous successes include his original composition “The Sky, The Stars, and The Earth.” On November 1, 2021 he released his first holiday piece.
“Christmas Tree” is the latest single from Amartya Paul, released worldwide to all major streaming services with a brand new video dropped to YouTube on November 25, 2021. Amartya composed the piece when he was just 9 years-old. Both instrumental and vocal versions are available.
The song opens with a progression of piano arpeggios falling like snowflakes. Deborah Offenhauser provides orchestration to fill the air with the sound of the season. Soon, vocalist Viktoria Sunshine enters the mix and delivers a beautiful ode to the holiday’s most iconic symbol.
