The Play is the professional name of singer, songwriter and multi-instrumentalist Adrianno Cabrera. The Miami-based artist/producer made his debut in 2019 with the Indie-Pop/Trap single “On Fire.” That song introduced a talented genre-bending artist with a knack for catchy Pop vocal and guitar hooks paired with modern Hip-hop and EDM beats and bass.
Since then, The Play has delivered a string of 15 singles, 3 EPs and a full length album. With each new release, the prolific songwriter further defines his unique blend of Pop and Dance. In addition to his own music, Adrianno has produced tracks for a number of other artists in genres ranging from Latin Pop and Reggaeton, to hard Trap and Hip-Hop. Some of his compositions have been featured on major television productions like the Telemundo dance show “Así Se Baila.”
“Undone” is the latest single from The Play, released worldwide to all major streaming services on January 7, 2022. The track opens on an ethereal mix of ambient synths and melodic electric guitar. A lo-fi snare/hi-hat loop enters the mix briefly before the beat drops on a chilled mid-tempo beat, mixing elements of Progressive and Tropical House.
The song rolls on that hypnotic groove as vocal samples and percussive synth arpeggios paint the corners. Meanwhile, Cabrera delivers a laid-back and soulful song about the impending end of a relationship. His smooth Pop tenor sets exactly the right mood for this relaxed but melancholy tune.
