Taryn Lounsbury is a singer, songwriter, multi-instrumentalist and educator whose musical journey began in Upstate, New York’s bucolic Catskill Mountains. Growing up just five miles from the location of the original Woodstock festival, music was a constant presence in the young artist’s life.
After studying classical piano for years, Taryn Lounsbury taught herself to play both guitar and cello. She started a band, and in doing so the painfully shy teen found a way to connect with her peers. After high school Taryn attended Boston’s prestigious Berklee College of Music.
In Beantown she further refined her skills and developed a unique sound combining her love of Jazz and Pop music. After graduation, the young singer launched her solo professional recording career in 2012 with the EP ‘Too Happy For Love’. Now based in Los Angeles, Taryn Lounsbury followed that debut with 2015’s ‘Mind the Gap’ and 2020’s ‘Wildfire’.
“Wildfire” is the title track and current single from Taryn Lounsbury’s most recent EP, available worldwide on all major streaming services. In soft and soulful tones the singer delivers an inspirational and self-affirming narrative over a smooth Synthwave vibe. Ambient keys, percussive arpeggios and shimmering guitar chords bring to mind the late 80’s work of Kate Bush.
