The Happy Curmudgeons are a collaborative project of session players founded in 2015. The group is the brainchild of studio musician Dave Hamilton. They made their debut in 2017 with the classic folk/rock love song “Meant 2 Be (You & Me).” That track introduced a talented genre-fluid crew with a decidedly vintage vibe.

Amy Dixon-Lavery, Jeff Warner and Tumbleweed join Dave as the band’s four core members. However, the group frequently collabs with the many talented musicians they have worked with through the years. On their latest track they have assembled a star-studded line-up of rock & roll royalty.

“Rustic Glory” is the brand new single from Happy Curmudgeons, released worldwide to all major streaming services on July 1, 2022. The song is a nostalgic tribute to those simple magical moments in our lives. The track grooves on a simple acoustic folk/funk groove.

Hamilton and crew are joined on the track by the legendary Billy Cox on bass guitar. There have been thousands of high-profile gigs in Mr. Cox’s historic career. However he is best known as the rock & roll hall of fame bass player of Jimi Hendrix’s Band of Gypsys. Next to Billy on guitar is hit-making co-writer of the classic “96 Tears’ ‘,  Bobby Balderrama from Question Mark & The Mysterians. Regular reader of The Static Dive will remember Bobby from his work with Le Sonic.

Award-winning Detroit drummer Todd Glass is in the driver’s seat while Bob Seger’s keyboardist Jim Moose Brown mans the Hammond B3 organ. Fellow Silver Bullet Mark Byerly is at the board with engineers Josh Ford & Joel Bunkowske. Songwriter Dave Hamilton sings and plays guitar.
