Brother, I’ve Been There

John Eason is a singer, songwriter and guitarist who made his professional solo recording debut in 2020 with the single “Gun from my Hands.” That track introduced a talented musician and Air Force veteran of five overseas deployments who shares his insights and struggles in song. A Louisiana native from the small town of Minden, Eason eventually relocated to Nashville to pursue a career in music.

Since his debut, the prolific performer has produced five singles as well as last year’s 6-song EP, Come On Sun. John Eason took a hard road to Music City. He was a professional chef and successful entrepreneur before hurricane Katrina destroyed his bakery. He then joined the Airforce where he saw more than his fair share of action. Now suffering from PTSD, he shares his experiences to connect with others fighting similar battles.

“Brother I’ve Been There” is the latest single and video from John Eason, released worldwide via all major streaming services on June 24, 2022. A bluesy electric guitar rides a mellow outlaw country groove as John Eason steps to the mic with his solemn testimony. He speaks directly to fellow sufferers, recognizing their anxiety, depression, addictions and all of the other emotional baggage that comes from PTSD. He delivers a soulful and sincere performance, highlighted by an ultimately uplifting and empowering message of inclusion and empathy.

My hope with this song is that it touches the people who need to hear this message. If it helps even one person, I will consider that a success.
