Dan Cody is a veteran singer, songwriter, guitarist and producer who made his professional solo recording debut in 2020 with the four-song EP Long Distance Line. That record introduced a talented Boston native with a taste for Rickenbacker guitars and infectiously catchy indie-pop. For years he performed in a string of popular Northeast bands including; Highway Ghosts, The Leeds Society and Finger Lickin’ Blue.
As a band member, Dan Cody was often called on to write music to fit the style and sound of whatever group he was in at the time. With his solo project, Dan is returning to his roots and making the music that he truly loves. Citing inspiration from legendary bands like the Beatles, Rolling Stones, R.E.M. and Tom Petty & The Heartbreakers, he creates hook-heavy pop/rock featuring loads of harmonies, jangly guitars and Dan’s own self-described ‘relentlessly positive outlook.’ Since his debut, the prolific producer has released two EPs and five singles.
“Good As Gold” is the brand new single from Dan Cody, released worldwide via all major streaming services on August 26, 2022. With a sound that lands somewhere between 80’s college rock and 60’s flower-power pop, the track is an upbeat rocker with vocal and guitar hooks to spare. Cody layers lush harmonies, Hammond organ chords and a wall of pristine electric and acoustic guitars to create the perfect dreamy pop backdrop for his feel-good vibe.
