Nick Noon Seeks Truth Behind ‘Costumes’

nick noon

We first heard from Nick Noon in June of last year, upon the release of his single, “Don’t Let the Papers Get You Down/Dear Delilah”. That double-single introduced readers of The static dive to a uniquely talented young singer, songwriter and multi-instrumentalist producer with a timeless alt-pop sound and an insightful lyrical style.

Nick Noon made his debut in 2021 after years of working behind the scenes as a songwriter and performer in Music City. Over the years the Nashville native has amassed a deep catalog of as-yet unpublished material. His latest is a cinematic pop examination of the many facades we humans each present to the world.

“Costumes” is the latest single from Nick Noon, released worldwide via all major streaming services on October 21, 2022. The track opens on a classic 60’s euro-pop groove. Nick Noon steps to the mic with a deep tenor that is built on equal parts Neil Diamond and Nick Cave.

The mix expands into massive a wall of strings and horns as the singer delivers his poetic social study. The track dips its toes into a bit of prog-rock during a very nice Queen-inspired bridge, before conjuring a bit of Lana Del-Rey for a perfect chamber-pop outro.

Check out the fabulous “Costumes” video below. You can also hear the track on the Deep Indie Dive playlist, or listen on your favorite streaming service. Follow the links below to connect with Nick Noon. Get on his socials and get in the loop on his forthcoming debut EP, A Jejune Affair.
