We first heard from Dan Cody in October of last year upon the release of his single “Good as Gold“. That track introduced The Static Dive readers to a veteran musician and songwriter from Boston with a guitar-driven alternative/Americana vibe. After years of performing as a member of popular Northeast bands like Highway Ghosts, The Leeds Society and Finger Lickin’ Blue, the singer made his solo professional recording debut in 2020.
A versatile and seasoned songwriter, Dan Cody cut his teeth penning tunes in a wide array of genres, made to order for whichever project has we working on at the time. He launched his solo recording career in order to focus his creative energy on music that was more true to his own sound. Since his debut the prolific producer has dropped two EPs and five singles.
“I Wanna Know” is a recent single from Dan Cody, available worldwide via all major streaming services. An acoustic guitar opens the track with a catchy melodic indie-folk/rock chord progression. Dan steps to the mic, and in a relaxed alt-pop tenor offers a soft-spoken carpe-diem anthem. As the song progresses a full Nashville ensemble featuring bass, drums, steel and electric guitars joins in. Guest vocalist Suzanne McNeil paints the edges of the mix with ethereal harmonies.
