LIDZY is a veteran singer, songwriter, and multi-instrumentalist producer who is launching a brand new solo project in 2024. Over the last 20 years, the Orlando-based musician has worked in bands and recording studios across the United States. Last month he dropped his debut album.
Currently performing as a member of the popular Central Florida cover band called The Add Hawks, LIDZY previously studied music and sound production and engineering at Berklee College of Music in Boston and at the SAE Institute of Technology in Nashville, Tennessee. He cites a broad-range of artists as influential to his unique indie vibe, from Tom Petty to Lady Gaga and Chris Stapleton.
“Our Luck” is the current single and opening track from LIDZY’s eponymous debut LP, available worldwide via all major streaming services. The track opens on a live bass guitar riding a mellow funk groove. Retro synths and guitars paint the periphery as the singer steps to the mic. He offers an uplifting and catchy carpe diem bop in a soulful high tenor reminiscent of Prince’s poppier stuff.
