LR’s beat on the new single “Off White” features a sample of a finger picked guitar that flows through the whole tune. It is a cool sound. The notes of the guitar fall on beats that bounce off of the trap hi-hats. A fat synth bass is backed up by a big low kick.
The real story here though is the rhyme technique. After a thirty second musical intro the first rapper kicks into a rapid synchopated attack that continues incessantly for about a minute and a half. It’s impressive.
From the 2:00 mark till the end of the song a couple of different rapper trade rhymes. The song features LR and Ty Glizzy.
The subject matter is standard gangster rap stuff, women, money, drugs, and guns. It may not be fun for the whole family, but they’re good at it.
