The Static Dive
2019-Present
My creative identity for this decade, The Static Dive is my solo recording project in which I play a myriad of instruments and explore genres from around the world. The tunes usually instrumental, but I do sing on occasion.
More than a one-man band, The Static Dive has been my musical journal. It has been my vehicle for chronicling some of the most eventful and fulfilling years of my life.
armchair prophet
2023-Present
When a tune is ready for the world, I send it to Kilo to be mixed and mastered. Then it becomes a song by The Static Dive.
However, not every song makes it to primetime. Some experiments are better left to the diehard weirdos who wanna hear the rough edits of my music. That is armchair prophet, the island of misfit toys.
House of Static
2021-Present
In 2021 I started a record label with my best bud, Kilo House (aka SxR LÜCÏFËR). Since then we have made dozens of recordings together. We collab on his music, my music, and that of other artists we’ve met along the way. King Matte Black is our legendary duo project. The King needs to make a comeback.
Bob Smith
1970-Present
Before I took on my groovy new moniker and genre-defying stance, I released a series of singer-songwriter/alt-rock/Americana records under my given name. I still occasionally release nuggets from the vault as Bob Smith. And I’ve put some movie music out under this name, for licensing purposes.
Shu
1993-Present
I’ve written the story of Shu a hundred times: always different, always true. Ultimately it is a tale of five men who became as close as family as they made music together for more than three decades.
The Distractions
1988-2020
The story of The Distractions is the story three best friends from 1988-2008. We also reunited briefly in 2020. It was all a long time ago. But my friends and I made some great music.
The Mustache Petes
2008-ish
When my buddy Auggie moved back to Ohio, he and I decided to collaborate remotely on an album. It just seemed the thing to do. We made a weird and wonderful record called The Mustache Petes.
The Flying None
1988-?
Where it all began. When I was 18, I got a four track recorder, a bunch of instruments I didn’t know how to play, and I made a tape called The Flying None. I’m still proud of it today.
