The new single “Life Lessons” by Theolodge is a bluesy Hip-hop letter to the artist’s past. Over a jazz club inspired beat, he raps about the lessons life has taught him. In that vein he addresses the people and events of his life via a series of first and second person narratives. The music sets a perfect mellow mood for his laid back and thoughtful delivery.
Theolodge is the professional name of Theo Jones. He is a rapper from Central Florida who has found significant success, far from home. Theo began performing at an early age. In school he performed whenever and wherever he could. Those early gigs included Elementary school talent shows and impromptu lunch room performances in Middle and High school. Since then Theo’s act has graduated to headlining music festivals in India and his own cross European tours.

The rapper’s world domination began in Mumbai, India when he performed as a headliner act for the “Totempole Music Fest” in 2017. The next summer Theolodge spent two months in Europe. The “It’s More Than an Algorithm Tour” was his first indie D.I.Y. Euro tour. In his travels he performed in cities throughout Europe, including; Rotterdam, & Groningen NL, Luxembourg, Valencia, SP, Cannes, FR, & Helsingor, DK. He is doing it again with plans to visit the United Kingdom and the Cayman Islands.

“Life Lessons” is an exciting look at the new music Theolodge has planned for 2020. I love the cool jazzy guitar at the heart of the song. Its clean Stratocaster sound has a real “Wind Cries Mary” vibe. Lyrically the track is smart and introspective. With a confident and relaxed style, he pulls up a chair and educates.
