Ice Lavont has dropped a brand new track for a new year. The tune is appropriately titled “Brand New Year.” With a little bit of humor and a hearty dose of street, the song introduces Ice’s new Hip-hop groove.
Born and raised in Miami, Ice an exciting new artist who is mixing genres to create a new sound he calls “Hip-Pop.” His new style for 2020 and beyond combines elements of Hip-hop, Pop and Dance beats. The track is built on a low subterranean kick drum. The beat has an old school flavor, but is also modern thanks to the distinctive Trap hi-hats. A low droning tone generator EDM synth bass holds down the bottom. And an ambient synth bed round out the sound.
The lyrics include some expert Hip-Hop bragging with lines like, “I get high every chance I get, with the money that I make every time I spit.” In between the posturing, the rapper intersperses some really witty lines about subjects ranging from Tom Brady to catfishing. It’s a fun, club-ready tune. It sounds like the perfect soundtrack to any party, New Year’s or otherwise.
