Phil Loft’s Chill New Positivity On “Believe”

Phil Loft

Phil Loft wants you to believe in yourself. He is going to help you get there with the benefit of his soulful and super chill new song, “Believe (Alternative Edition) Coded #3159.” The Long Island, New York native is a singer and songwriter who says his music is, “for the world, and the universe.”

Born from a tightly knit family of music lovers, Phil grew up listening to singers of transformative Pop and R&B music. Of this experience Phil says, “I was heavily influenced by the sounds and music styles of the likes of Sade, Seal, Sting, Marvin Gaye, Michael Mcdonald, Michael Bolton, Marc Anthony and Lara Fabian.”

On “Believe (Alternative Edition) Coded #3159” we can hear the impact these legends had on Loft’s sound. Specifically I hear his beautiful and soft high tenor landing stylistically somewhere between Sade and Sting. I’ll admit to a bias here, as they are two of my favorite singers. But, Phil Loftdoes them proud. These influences would mean nothing without his own natural talent and soulful commitment to his music and message. On his new song, that message is one of earnest and motivational self affirmation.

Musically “Believe” uses minimalist percussion, a soft synth bed and a mellow bass groove to set the scene. The production provides an infinite space for Phil’s voice to breathe, and shine. That voice is the star, and rightfully so. Although written before the current world crisis, his uplifting and motivational message is something we could all use right now.
