Singer/songwriter Alice Kübe is causing a stir in her UK home. The artist’s music has been featured on the popular BBC Introducing platform, and she is picking up radio spins across the nation. Originally from Berlin, Germany, the musician and model is now generating interest worldwide and online. Her recent collaboration with UK House/Dance producer Zak Joshua “I Don’t Wanna Wait” has already received nearly 25K plays on Spotify. Now Alice’s brand new solo track, “Love On You” is poised to hit even higher heights.
“Love on You” is a smooth R&B track that highlights Kübe’s cool and soulful vocal delivery. Her voice is strong and confident, but soft around the edges. In both style and substance she reminds me a bit of Toni Braxton. Like that R&B queen, Alice flows easily between Pop and Jazz phrasings, executing complicated transitions naturally without any unnecessary acrobatics. She has a great sound that fits perfectly with the cool smoking lounge instrumentation on the track.
The production on “Love on You” is minimalist and classy. It is a modern sound but incorporates elements of Pop and R&B from the 80’s and 90’s. A lazy Jazz piano chord progression supports Kübe over a chill, downtempo Hip-Hop beat. A mellow and understated funky bassline carries the groove as occasional sax riffs fill some of the empty spaces, but still leave plenty to the imagination. The laid back arrangement gives Alice’s voice plenty of space to shine.
“Love On You” is available now on all major streaming services. You can also listen now on the Deep Indie Beat. Follow the links below to connect with Alice Kübe and stay in the loop on all of her current and future projects.
