Jackie Apostel is a Brazilian singer and songwriter who does most of her work behind the scenes. The talented young artist writes music for chart topping musicians around the globe. However, occasionally she’ll pen a tune that she feels is just too good to let go. Her latest single, “Let U down” is one such track. With its infectious rhythm, hook-heavy melody and party vibe it’s no surprise she wanted this one for her own catalog.
The artist recently returned to live in her home country, and those Brazilian roots are all over “Let U Down.” A modern dance groove mixes Pop, EDM and Samba elements to immediately transport the listener to the streets of Rio de Janeiro during Carnival. I really dig the recurring flute loop as well. Lyrically the song is sexy, fun and a little bit dangerous. It’s a track designed to get the body moving, and it hits all the mark on all points.
Jackie explains that her reason for releasing the song during these trying times is, “to bring people together.” To that end, she has released a clip of young talented dancers from 29 different countries around the world. They came together virtually to choreograph the song on her social media. Her goal was to bring the joy, energy and positivity of Brazilian music and people to the world. The video is a lot of fun and Jackie was kind enough to share it with The Static Dive.
“Let U Down” is available on all major streaming services. Check it out on the Deep Indie Dive playlist and follow the links below to connect with Jackie Apostel.
