Zenon7’s Fake Life – Trapped in Isolation

Zenon7 is the new project from Polish producer and composer, Kasia Przedpelska. A highly accomplished musician professionally and in academia, she is a first degree graduate of the Stanislaw Moniuszko Music School in Łódź, Poland where she studied piano. Przedpelska also has a vocal degree from the PWST National Academy of Theatre Arts.

Founder of the popular Krakow music club, “Steel Magnolias,” it is there that Kasia first took to the stage as a singer and songwriter while attending college. In Zenon7, the artist has completed an ambitious new concept album about a man living in isolation. The project is the product of many months in which Przedpelska worked in solitude. It explores the fears, desperation and desires inherent to that circumstance.

“Fake Life” is the first single from the new album. The dark and dramatic mood of the song reflects the deeply personal nature of the project as a whole. The track moves on a slow groove reminiscent of Trip-hop acts like Massive Attack or Röyksopp. However, there is a darker Goth element as work as well.

The song’s minor key atmospheric synths and minimalist guitar bring to mind “Disintegration” era Cure, or some of Siouxsie & The Banshees’ moodier work. Lyrically the track is dark a observation of existence without purpose.
