Rocket is an aspiring independent Hip-hop artist from Kentucky. He works both as a solo artist and as an MC in the rap group, Galaxy’s Finest. He first began rapping at the age of 10 as an escape from boredom after moving from California to the Bluegrass State. The prolific artist has released a new album each year for the past five years, as well as two dozen singles.
“Big Bet” is Rocket’s latest single. The autobiographical track is an excellent example of the rapper’s humor and fast paced, quick witted style. He rhymes over a low and slow beat featuring elements of Lo-fi, Chill-hop and Trap. It is a catchy pop/rap song in a similar vein to WHATS POPPIN by fellow Kentuckian, Jack Harlow.
In developing his style, Rocket has been influenced by 90’s rappers like Ludacris, Busta Rhymes and Eminem. However, in recent years he has also found inspiration in more underground artists including; Del The Funky Homosapien, El-P, Eyedeas, ChinoXL, and Motion Man.
