Trey Connor is a singer, songwriter and guitarist, originally from a small town in the Detroit/Flint Michigan area. Although he is only 23 years-old, the talented young artist is already a veteren of the music business with over a decade of experience under his belt.
At the age of 15 he started the popular Detroit area Modern Rock band, Bulletproof Snow. Trey wrote and released two EP’s with the band, “Punished For My Innocence” and “Here We Come”. The group did well regionally, winning fans and awards. In 2015 they won the Detroit Music Awards People’s Choice Award for Trey’s song “Here We Come.”
Connor has now relocated to Austin, Texas and launched his solo career. He started with a series of singles released in 2019 and 2020. His music immediately connected with listeners. On Spotify alone he counts his songs’ streaming numbers in the tens of thousands. A couple of months ago he released his debut solo album “Horizons,” to similar response. The nine song collection has earned the affection of thousands of listeners each month.
“Fear” is the opening track and current single from “Horizons.” The song is an excellent example of Trey’s radio-ready Pop/Rock sound. With a smooth tenor and expert guitar playing he sets the scene. Backed by a top notch band, Connor tells a tale of breaking free from an unhealthy relationship. The song examines the reality that those in our past remain part of our present. Over a Country-tinged Pop groove he is both defiant and realistic as he sings, “I won’t accept defeat. But you’ll always be a part of me.”
