Of course, it’s not just a numbers game. The driving force behind these impressive stats is Shannon’s remarkable talent. His new single is an excellent showcase for the artist’s broad range of skills as a songwriter, singer and multifaceted musician.
“Do You Know” is a smooth R&B/Pop slow jam. Over a chill downtempo Hip-hop beat the singer delivers a soulful, laidback lead vocal with a maturity of style and technique that defies his young age. Tasteful backing harmonies add to the mellow mood. Shannon’s skills on guitar and keys are equally impressive. A bed of ambient synths set the mood and give his voice and guitar space to shine.
Throughout the track he peppers the mix with some really slick Jazz guitar. Both the performance and tone are perfect fit to this cool slow groove. In the bridge section of the song Shannon breaks the mix down to his acoustic guitar and that sweet electric lead.
