KGNBlu Drops New Jam – Robitussin

  • by
KGNBlu

KGNBlu is an up and coming Hip-Hop artist from Amarillo, Texas. He first made his debut on SoundCloud two years ago. Since then the talented rapper has dropped a series of singles on the platform. His tracks range from Latin inspired beats to hard-hitting Trap bass tracks.

His latest is titled “Robitussin” and it is his first track to be made available across multiple streaming platforms, like Spotify and Apple Music. The artist explains that his new song was inspired by some of today’s hottest bass-heavy Hip-Hop artists like DaBaby and Trippie redd. KGNBlu also lists Juice Wrld, Lil Uzi Vert and Chvse are some of his biggest musical influences

“Robitussin” is a slow and low roll. As a mellow minor key piano arpeggio cycles through the song, deep 808 bass hits hold down the low end. The beat is a hybrid of old-school Hip-hop groove and a modern Trap tempo and drum sounds.

KGNBlu’s flow is a cool mix of chill stoner rap tone and a faster chopping rhythm. Throughout the track, as he and fellow rapper Tony Milex rhyme about rolling with their crew he drops clever Pop culture references covering subjects from Edward Scissorhands to alien abduction.
