SEB SUMR is the professional name of Sebastian Sommer, a producer from Cologne, Germany. The 27 year-old composer and multi-instrumentalist musician has been making music in one form or another for at least 14 years. Known previously as ‘2K50,’ he worked with a number of successful international music artists including well known American singer, Dante Thomas.
He made his debut as SEB SUMR about four years ago with a series of remixes of popular songs of the time. In that time he has tackled tracks by everyone from Kid Cudi to Taylor Swift. All along he has also produced his own original tracks, in most cases in collaboration with musicians and singers from around the globe.
“Blah Blah” is the latest single from SEB SUMR, released December 4, 2020. This time Sebastian has teamed up with Barcelona-based Pop and EDM singer, Suzanna. The track is a fun mix of Pop hooks and EDM production. Vocally, Suzanna has an ultra-cool, laid back vibe. She sings about cutting through the BS and noise of everyone’s “blah blah.” She combines soulful leads with expertly executed multi-part harmonies.
Meanwhile, SEB SUMR mixes up a beat that incorporates retro synths and modern House and Trap sounds. Analog basses hold down the low end as he combines Latin rhythms and EDM breaks. Electronic percussion and strings paint the corners of the mix. It’s a funky, and very catchy track.
