Clark Aaron is a singer/songwriter with a lot of material yet to be released. However, the current events in the world and the Coronavirus pandemic have compelled him to release this one single in these few weeks before Christmas. “Silent Night (a song for the isolated and the lonely)” is Clark Aaron’s debut single and video, released to YouTube on December 8, 2020.
What inspired him is the realization that people are experiencing the pandemic lockdowns very differently from one another, and some people are having a way harder time than others because of their situation. There are plenty of people who live alone, work from home, or just don’t see other people that often, and many are struggling with their mental health and their sanity. It’s a pandemic of loneliness.
Although he’s never played piano before, (he normally plays guitar) Clark pieced together a handful of chords for a beautifully simple and soulful ballad, using a MIDI keyboard he found for free on Craigslist. With Christmas coming up, a time normally filled with friends and family, this song goes out to the ones who are alone, who are beginning to crack under the strain of social isolation.
