Drew Haze is a singer/songwriter from New York City. The Brooklyn native launched his solo career in 2020 with the release of his single, “Quarter Life Crisis.” The song immediately impacted with fans, earning the artist over 1000 followers on Facebook, 5000 streams on Spotify and an impressive 20,000 streams on Soundcloud. His new focus on music came in response to a tragedy. Drew lost his father to COVID-19 last year. In healing, he quietly turned his energies toward his music, independently writing and recording new songs.
“Fall again” is Drew Haze’s latest single, released January 8, 2021 to all major streaming services. The track is a smooth R&B/Pop examination of a relationship in distress. The song opens with quiet piano chord progression and Drew’s haunting vocals. A slow Trap beat and low 808 bass tones enter the mixes as the singer sings of his confusion to a recent lover. Pleading for clarity he asks, “Can we ever fall again?” Trippy vocal effects and synths paint the edges of the mix while staccato strings add to the drama in the chorus. Meanwhile Drew delivers a heartfelt and soulful lead vocal.
