Chris Del Camino’s Hopeful And Funky “Brighter Day”

Chris Del Camino is a multi-instrumentalist and songwriter from the San Francisco Bay area, best known as the saxophonist and founding member of the popular Reggae/Pop act, HIRIE. In 2020 the pandemic grounded his otherwise extensive touring schedule. The multi-disciplinary artist has kept busy as a session musician and through his own solo work. With a wide musical array of interests from Reggae/Dub to Arabic Folk & Pop, Mexican & Latin-American music to Jam band, and Classical to Mainstream Pop & Rap, the adventurous artist stirs an eclectic brew.

“Brighter Day” is the latest single from Chris Del Camino. Released on January 18, 2021 to all major streaming services, the track is a perfect example of his ability to bring multiple disparate influences into a singularly groovy and cohesive whole. The track opens with a funky Lo-Fi Hip-hop beat, paired with a reggae-infused acoustic bass line. Chris’ soulful saxophone interjects bluesy Jazz riffs throughout the track.

Smooth vocal harmonies and ambient keys paint the edges of the mix as Del Camino sings and raps an uplifting and hopeful anthem. He looks forward from the hardships of 2020 to a far better future on the horizon. The song carries the perfect message for this brand new day in America. We’re not out of the woods yet, but Chris’ inspiring and infinitely catchy tune presents a beautiful picture of the possibilities ahead.
