EVLTEC is an up and coming Alternative Hip-hop artist making his debut. The New Jersey native dropped his first single just over a month ago and already has a number of tracks in the works. His experimental vibe mixes together different genres and Hip-hop styles. His beats combine Trap grooves with psychedelic moods with EDM bass. With influences from Cloud-Rap to Pop as he is striving to create a well-rounded and dynamic style.
“Die Young” is the debut first single from EVLTEC, released to all major streaming services on December 8, 2020. The song is an excellent example of the eclectic stylistic vision the artist has set out for himself. At the heart of the track is a Trap beat matched with bouncing, hard Reggaeton bass hits. The groove features some really crafty syncopated rhythms between the snare and hi-hats as ambient synths and percussive chimes expand and fill the soundscape. Meanwhile, EVLTEC and guest rapper Nadir Nineteen trade verses.
Lyrically, “Die Young” is an ode to all things fun and bad for you. The track is a celebration of living fast and partying hard. Through the course of the two minute song, the rappers drop everything from ecstasy to acid and chase them with various flavors of booze. Blue pills, codeine and plenty of women pack the story of their wild night. They’re no role models but they write some funny and clever lines while they, “try to make that booty wiggle like some loose teeth.”
