TheKnowledgeGod Drops New Shoutout To The 81st

TheKnowledgeGod is the professional name of Tobia Phoenix, an aspiring Hip-hop artist originally from Los Angeles, California. He made his debut in 2019 and since then has dropped a steady stream of singles. Over the course of those three years he defined and clarified his sound. He found his voice. Eventually the rapper relocated to the East Coast. Now living in Atlanta, Georgia he is looking back at the path he took to get to where he is today, both literally and figuratively.

TheLoveGod and people I knew from the 81st got me into music, and the passion to make music just grew. Once I learned the art, I was gonna make some dedications… starting with this song ‘81 familia’.

Tobia Phoenix (TheKnowledgeGod)

81 Familia” is TheKnowledgeGod’s latest single, released to all major streaming services on January 17, 2021. The song is his dedication to his friends and family. These are the folks from his neighborhood who brought him up and encouraged him. By his own account, without them he may have taken a much darker path than the life of music which he chose. The rapper is joined on the track by one of those people, his friend and fellow rapper Gdolla. The two tell a story of surviving a hard city through working hard, and working together.

Built on classic Pop and R&B samples and an old school 808 beat, the track (produced by BigBoyTraks) sets a chill but dramatic vibe. The track sounds like Los Angeles and brings to mind images of a slow roll through the palm trees and neighborhoods TheKnowledgeGod calls out in his rhymes. The track is the perfect backdrop for the rappers’ motivational but deadly serious narrative. Skilled emcees, they tell their story with insightful and clever lines like, “I used to be lost be now I’m profound.”
