Elysian is an emerging singer and songwriter, born and raised in London, UK. She made her debut early in 2020 with the single “No Time For You.” Since then she has released two subsequent singles, “Toxic Girl” and “Let Me Go.” With each new song the talented and versatile artist explores different genres and styles of popular music. Her songs range from Lo-Fi to R&B and Pop to Soul. The singles are all leading up to her debut EP “Project 21,” which will be released later this year.
On January 28, 2021 Elysian dropped her debut music video for the track “Toxic Girl.” A melodic guitar arpeggio progression introduces the Afro-Pop groove. In an infectiously catchy and rhythmic melody, Elysian sings from the first person perspective of the song’s title character, a femme fatale playing games with the men in her life. She knows how self destructive their desires are and she plays into them for her own gratification.
The video features the singer and other beautiful women, practicing their craft on willing victims. Elysian delivers a smooth and confident performance with just the right amount of attitude as she drops clever lines line, “Come on over baby and use your words. Or maybe you wanna take notes and learn from a toxic girl.”
It is based around a toxic girl who likes to play the field and keep men on their toes. However it is just her way of protecting herself from getting hurt.
