Flatlinerz the professional name of the DJ duo team of Diego Villarreal (The one without glasses) and Alex Ferrara. The two friends came to electronic music from different angles. Diego has been creating beats and writing music since he was just 12 years ago. In his home studio, the bedroom producer explored multiple different platforms and styles as his skills grew. Eventually deciding upon Ableton Live as his DAW of choice. By the age of 16 the young artist produced over 50 projects on his own.
Alex Ferrara was also in the business of making beats, but he was doing it from a DJ perspective. He was working solo for three years before joining forces with Villareal. Once they were a team the two were able to teach each other and form a brand new and unique sound. Two years later they had gigs at the biggest clubs, the best pubs and private parties. They worked every weekend an entire year. Now they are putting their ideas to tape and releasing their creations to the world. Last year they began dropping originals and remixes to their SoundCloud.
The duo recently dropped a cool and wildly creative mix. “Walking on a Rose” is the latest Flatlinerz mash-up. The team combined the 2009 smash hit “Walking on a Dream” from Australian electronic supergroup Empire of the Sun, and the 2018 hit “Roses” by Brooklyn rapper Saintjhn. The track finds cool commonality between the two melodies. The beat alternates between the former song’s Electro-Pop grooves and the latter’s Trap crawl. It’s a cool sound.
