Rod Black is a rocker with a Country heart, and that comes through in every note he plays. For the past few years he has enjoyed significant success in the Country world. With his label Bristol Records, the black hat wearing singer had a top 20 hit in 2018 with his song “Keepin’ On.” He spent the years before that splitting his time between Nashville and Texas, playing both Country and Rock clubs.
Black is back for 2021 with “Barely Gettin’ By,” an upbeat barn burner with an uplifting message for the reality of our bruised world. The song rolls on a rockin’ Country groove and delivers sound advice for troubled times. Keep your head down and get by anyway you can with the love of family and friends. Desperate days never sounded so fun. This is a Country Pop/Rock bop that will get everyone to the dance floor. There is also some really nice guitar playing.
For the song, Rod teamed up with producer/writer Jeff Johnson, a 2017 CCMA award winner (Producer of the year) and a 5-time BC Country Music Association award winning Producer.
