Outlaw Muddbaby is the professional name of emerging Hip-hop artist, Antwuan Tate. The Mississippi native started rapping at a young age and made his international debut in 2019 with the “MB4l” EP. Since then he has dropped an impressive string of singles and two full albums. With each new record he has further defined his sound and expanded his audience.
“Big Law” is the new single from Outlaw Muddbaby, and his first of 2021. The record dropped to all major streaming services on January 15, 2021. With its Deep South bass and Trap beat the record is an excellent example of the artist’s unique blend of new and old school. The slow rolling groove incorporates subterranean 808 bass hits with breakbeat style syncopated snare and hi-hat interplay. It’s a great sound.
Meanwhile the rapper drops real-life stories from a night in the life. His laid back style and clever wordplay brings to mind some of the emcee’s influences like 8ball & MJG and the legendary Tupac Shakur. However, he has taken their inspiration and created his own unique sound. Antwuan’s creative mix of classic Hip-hop and modern Trap sets him apart from his peers and has set the stage for big things in the future.
