Windfread is the professional name of singer, songwriter and producer Felix Windfread Artemus Jr. He began making music in High School. At first the artist experimented with R&B, Trap and Rap music. However, he eventually found his true calling in Pop and never looked back. He made his professional debut in 2020 in a big way. The prolific songwriter released the EP “October,” the full length album “The Sham” and the subsequent single “Bliss,” all in the same year.
On February 12, 2021 Windfread will drop his first release of the new year. “Too Comfortable” is a Dark Pop groove with a classic 80’s R&B/Pop feel. He pairs a mellow but funky Lo-Fi beat with a smooth minor-key electric piano chord progression. Airy synths float in the periphery as the singer delivers a tale of love and uncertainty in a cool and laid back style. Among others, he lists classic Pop artists like Michael Jackson and Jimmy Jam & Terry Lewis as inspiration. We can hear their influence in his soulful sound and retro vibe.
This record is about a girl that I’m falling for and I think she’s doing the same for me too. Yet, with my past breakup and similar scenarios, they’ve made me cautious.
