WHO AM I is a DJ and producer from Germany. The intentionally anonymous artist chose his inquisitive moniker in response to the moment he found himself at a professional and artistic crossroads. It is a sentiment and situation to which we can all relate. At some point in every person’s life, we are forced to choose. What’s more important… happiness, stability, freedom or security? There is no one-size fits-all answer. At some point, we each must choose what is best for us, in work and in life.
I was not happy with my current career and I didn’t know where I would be going, what my music taste would be like in the future and other things I just thought about and couldn’t figure out. I didn’t really know who I was or who I would be one day. That is the reason for why I’ve created WHO AM I.
WHO AM I
“Collide” is the new single from WHO AM I, released to all major streaming services on February 5, 2021. It is the fourth single from the talented producer since his debut in 2020 with the track “Feelz.” This time he is teaming up with guest vocalist Nora. “Collide” opens with a chill ambient mood and soon rolls into the verse on a mellow Pop groove. The mix is accented by analog synths, rhythmic arpeggios and a lightly strummed acoustic guitar.
The emotion builds gradually until the chorus explodes into an upbeat EDM groove. An energetic House beat drives the track while anthemic synths create a sprawling horizon. Meanwhile, in a cool and laid back tone, Nora sings of a new romance and all of the excitement and uncertainty that comes with the territory.
