Veridical is an aspiring Hip-Hop artist currently based in San Antonio. The rapper landed in Texas by way of Wyoming and Colorado. In his words the journey has brought him, “Through hell and back like it’s a mandatory vacation trip each year.” He made his international musical debut in 2020 with the release of two singles and the EP “Crypt.”
“Evil Deeds” is the latest single from Veridical and his first of the new year. Although the emcee usually tackles serious subjects, his new track is intentionally ridiculous as he rhymes about all of the many ‘evil deeds’ he has performed or intends to exact on his foes. They range from goldfish murder to replacing toothpaste with super glue. It is silly fun. Even when he discusses more serious offenses, it is clear that it is all tongue in cheek.
Musically the track has a churning, march-like rhythm. A lo-fi, acoustic drum beat and low bass tones drive the track forward. The only other accompaniment comes in the form of what sounds like a kazoo (or group of kazoos), adding to the lighthearted vibe of the song.
