Karina Rae is an aspiring Pop singer and recording artist who, after recently moving to Los Angeles, found a new energy and a new sound. While writing new material she decided to seek out some collaborators. She met a group of USC musicians who took her music in a whole new direction. She says, “They completely changed the way I viewed the process of creating music, and the way this came to life has been the most fun I’ve ever had while making a song.”
“Bitch Boy” is the latest single from Karina Rae, released to all major streaming services on February 14, 2021. The song has a classic retro Pop vibe and lyrics with a raw, tongue-in-cheek attitude. It’s edgy, catchy and a lot of fun.
As the band rocks out to an 80’s inspired groove, Karina sings a tale chronicling her misadventures with what she calls, “a very specific breed of f-boy in LA.” The juxtaposition of bubbly Pop music and tough girl lyrics makes for a cool contrast and definitely catches the listener’s attention. Karina and her band deliver excellent performances throughout, with layers of interwoven guitars, swirling synths and a rock solid rhythm section.
