Bachaco is a group founded in Miami by Venezuelan Singer-Songwriter Edilberto ‘Eddy’ Morillo. Since 2007 the band has performed over 300 concerts from Argentina to Canada. The multicultural, bilingual and multi-genre band is a force on the world music and reggae circuits. They have shared the stage with everyone from The Marley Brothers to the legendary Toots and the Maytals. They spin a wild mix of influences including Dancehall, Ska, Rock, Hip-Hop, Dub and Latin Reggae to create their own unique, high-energy positive vibe.
“La Policía” is the latest single from Bachaco with a brand new video released worldwide on February 26, 2021. The song is an excellent example of the band’s cool mix of Latin percussion, Rock riffs and laid back Reggae beats. Timbales, scratch guitar rhythms and a slow bass funk lay down a fantastic cross-cultural groove. It’s a lighthearted, infectious party vibe with Latin Cumbia and hip-hop flavors and a catchy Pop hook.
The video is as much fun as the tune. The film cuts back and forth between scenes of the band rocking out in the street and the lead singer Eddy smoking weed in his living room. A nosy neighbor calls the police on him repeatedly. However, every officer who arrives simply joins him in his session. Eventually the neighbor gets in on the action as well. It is good, clean, stoner fun set to a jammin Latin reggae beat.
