Andrea Cinii is an aspiring international music producer and composer. Originally from Malta, the artist splits his time between there and Frankfurt, Germany. The 21 year-old DJ began making beats back in 2017 when he picked up his first bit of gear. However, a trip to the Mediterranean a year later guided his direction forward.
In 2018 Andrea attended two well known EDM events in Ibiza. There he developed a deep appreciation and interest in Tech House and Techno music. Once he returned home he got to work. After DJing various private parties and events, he hit the studio in 2020. The prolific artist wasted no time. Over the course of the year he released two EPs and two singles.
“Oblivion” is the latest EP from Andrea Cinii, released worldwide to all major streaming services on February 26, 2021. The 5 song collection is his first of the new year. On the new record we find the artist in full stride with a clearly developed style. His distinctive groove combines upbeat House rhythms with classic synthwave tones and rich, complex melodic structures.
The tracks on “Oblivion” explore multiple different moods and styles of the Tech House sound. From the first kick drum and ambient synths of “Spectrum,” we are introduced to Andrea’s broad vision. His sound combines elements of Tech House, Deep House and Synthwave. “Void” dives deep into the retro sounds as overlapping analog synth arpeggios swirl around an upbeat groove.
“Blurry Dream” opens with a cathedral-style organ that soon morphs into a bed of spacey, ambient synths over an uptempo but chill rhythm. “Distant” takes a darker turn with rhythmic minor-key arpeggios. There is a particularly nice solo break in the bridge. The record closes on the brighter skies and cinematic tones of “Vigilant.”
