Bobby Stryder is an aspiring UK rapper, originally from the Lewisham neighborhood in Southeast London. He has been involved in the Grime scene since the genre’s early days. Grime is a distinctly British style of Hip-hop which combines elements of Dancehall Reggae, Jungle and other subgenres of EDM and Rap.
In his teens, Stryder and his friends passed around mixtapes of local and regional heroes like; Pay As You Go Cartel, Heartless Crew and Monkstar. However, it was his introduction to Grime superstar Wiley that ultimately convinced him to become an MC and dive deeply into the scene. Unfortunately, after a promising start, life derailed those plans for a time. That is, until now.
“Levels” is the debut single from Bobby Stryder, released worldwide to all major streaming services on March 5, 2021. Legendary Grime producer Big E-D drops a bangin’ instrumental track accented by electronic string arpeggios, synth horns blasts and hard rap beat. Meanwhile Bobby Stryder delivers his declaration in a scorchingly fast, chopping style. Barely pausing to take a breath, his impressive flow and technique give proof to the track’s premise, that his competitors are simply not on his level. It’s an excellent, hard-hitting Grime track that will have you hitting rewind to catch his rapid-fire rhymes.
