Ben Strange Returns With A Trippy Blue Lip

It’s been a busy couple of months since we last heard from Ben Strange. Earlier this year The Static Dive featured the singer’s debut song, “Single Late Happy People.” The recent college graduate sang of the changes that love and life can bring with the passage of time. The song was a smart and melancholy bit of acoustic Dark Pop.

Since then the UK singer has dropped three more singles and his songs have been played at radio on both sides of the pond, with spins on BBC Radio and Amazing Radio US/UK. “Blue Lip” is the latest single from Ben Strange, released worldwide to all major streaming services on March 10, 2021.

“Blue Lip ” has a cool psychedelic blues vibe that is equal parts 2021 and 1969. A low, percussive and rhythmic acoustic guitar sets a dark and swampy groove. It’s a mood that persists throughout this Indie-Folk/Art-Rock tune with cryptic and poetic lyrics. The song combines a Jack White-style raw bluesy-ness with tripped out, “Dark Side of the Moon”-era Pink Floyd psychedelia. The self-produced Strange takes all the right turns as he maneuvers between a dark Folk/Blues and the Acid Rock trip floating on the horizon. The song is just a lot of fun to listen to.
