Qfish is a somewhat mysterious EDM and Pop producer from Köln, Germany. With little backstory he arrived on the Electronic Music scene in 2020 with a series of single releases. His songs vary in style from Synth Pop to Hip-hop. With each release he has worked with different male and female vocalists, tailoring his production to match their individual styles. Throughout his genre-fluid experiments though he maintains a positive vibe and stylistic lean toward the Electro-Pop sheen of the 1980’s.
“Rise Again” is the latest single from Qfish, released worldwide to all major streaming services on March 19, 2021. Once again we find the producer experimenting with different genres and subgenres of Electronic Music. With his signature retro-synth sound he combines Dance and Techno rhythms with his keen Pop sensibilities.
The song opens with a classic Pop ballad feel. Ambient synths and strings meet an emotional vocal. The mellow mood doesn’t last long though. Soon a rhythmic piano is paired with percussion. Then the beat builds as the classic drum roll introduces a high-energy dance track. From there the song takes off into an upbeat Synthwave/Disco House groove. As the singer sings, “I can feel the sunlight shining down on me,” that same positive air fills the tune. This is music for feeling good.
