Palaver is an experimental genre-hopping Rock duo from Stanford, Kentucky. Dalton Stevens and Gabe Gilliam debuted their adventurous project in October of last year with the eight song collection, “Relativity.” With that record they introduced their unique blend of Hardcore, Alternative and Pop.
“Continuous” is the latest single from Palaver, released to all major streaming services on March 27, 2021. Guitarist and vocalist Dalton and drummer Gabe share recording, bass, keys and all other instrumental duties on this wildly creative and eclectic rocker. The song opens with an Iron Maiden meets Rush Art-Rock intro and then soon kicks into a Metallica-worthy Metal groove in the verse. From there the song shifts into a guttural Death Metal chorus and even a bit of 80’s influenced artsy Synth Pop in the bridge.
Throughout the track, Stevens and Gilliam perform their parts with high octane virtuosity. Epic Speed Metal guitar riffs meet double bass drum fills and hardcore percussive grooves. Power chords crunch under Heavy Metal howls and analog synths buoy melodic vocal harmonies. It’s a great sound, and it’s a lot of fun to listen to these two skilled musicians surf through the many flavors of Rock & Roll.
