Y’Hainis is a brand new name on the international Hip-hop scene. The aspiring rapper from New York City just dropped his debut single earlier this month. However, the 24 year-old artist has been entertaining fans online for some time. He already has a popular YouTube channel with 56K subscribers and thousands of views on the few videos he has posted so far.
“Foreign” is the debut single from Y’Hainis, released worldwide to all major streaming services on April 3, 2021. The track mixes a Trap groove with Caribbean rhythms and cool mix of Latino instrumentation. An electric rhythm guitar plays a backbeat as a nylon string lead weaves licks through the mix with an ethereal flute loop.
Meanwhile Y’Hainis slides between English and Spanish slang to deliver a smooth melodic rap about his own general badassness. With an infectiously catchy melody he rhymes about his girls, his money and all the ways he’s about to go get them. The refrain of “Como te llama, I rap like a cholo” in particular will stick in your head and stay there a while.
