Jeremiah James is an aspiring singer/songwriter with an ambitious plan. Originally from Colorado, James moved to California in 2018 to pursue a career in music. He is officially launching that solo career in 2021 with monthly releases.
Beginning with his debut single “Forever” Jeremiah launched his periodical song schedule. Throughout this new year he is recording, producing and releasing a brand new song from scratch each month. In the first few months of the year he has already clearly established his sound with soul-touching love songs and adventure-themed stories. It is a style defined by equally impressive singing, songwriting and musical skills.
“Castaway” is the latest single and video from Jeremiah James, released worldwide to all major streaming services on April 9, 2021. On his new song the singer combines his two favorite songwriting themes of love and adventure in a breakup song told in a shipwreck metaphor. It’s a heartbreaking story told in James’ beautiful and soulful tenor.
Musically, “Castaway” is centered around Jeremiah’s excellent acoustic guitar performance. Flute, cello and violin accompany him as he tells his tale with poetic imagery. From the America/Jethro Tull inspired verse to smooth harmonies of the chorus, the song’s vibe floats somewhere between mellow Classic Rock and modern Indie-Folk.
