Zouzhi is a multi-disciplinary artist based in Los Angeles, California. Originally from Casablanca, Morocco, the business school graduate came to the United States to pursue a career in the entertainment industry. As a producer, singer, composer and video director he maintains total control over his own artist vision.
Making his debut in 2020 with the instrumental single “Summer in Casablanca,” Zouzhi introduced his unique multi-cultural and genre-fluid sound. Just as the city for which it is named, that song combined elements of Arabic, French and Spanish culture into a rich downbeat groove.
“Vendetta” is the latest single and video from Zouzhi. this time the artist takes to the mic for a smooth and soulful vocal performance. He flows easily between singing and rapping in both English and Spanish as he tells a dark tale of heartbreak and revenge. Musically the track rolls on a downtempo Hip-hop beat with Trip-hop vibes as Spanish guitar, strings and ambient synths set a mellow but ominous cinematic mood.
The “Vendetta” video depicts Zouzhi acting out this dark fantasy in a short film that feels like an episode from Mexican biker/cartel thriller Mayans. The dramatic short is the perfect match for the cool, dark and sexy song. Check it out below. You can also hear “Vendetta” on the Deep Indie Dive playlist.
