Wingman is a Los Angeles based singer, songwriter, rapper, producer and helicopter pilot. The South Dakota native made his debut in 2020 with the album “Weird New Feelings” and his career quickly took flight. This year he has released three more singles as follow-ups to the album. Across the board his music has made an impact with listeners and now each of his songs counts its streaming numbers in the hundreds of thousands.
“F Up My Life” is one of the latest releases from Wingman. Stylistically the track is a cool mix of Pop, Rock, Electronic and Hip-hop. Rolling on a beat that is equal parts Trap and Lo-Fi Hip-hop, Wingman matches EDM arpeggios with classic synth-Pop sounds and a low, chill bass. It’s a great groove with a wild multi-genre sound.
Written during quarantine, the song is an anthem for shaking things up. The artist intended it as a positive message for those that are feeling low from the events of the last year. He flows smoothly between chopping rhymes and a Modern Rock vocal rasp as he sings, “Fuck up my life if I’m in the mood.”
I was beginning to change my attitude about not being happy with my situation. I said: Alright I’ll just burn it all down and start over, simply because I’m in the mood.
