YvngPope is the professional name of emerging Hip-hop artist Jonah Parker. The Texarkana rapper debuted his own original music in 2020. However, he started rapping while he was still in high school when he would freestyle and make beats to entertain his friends. In recent years the young artist met with tragedy after losing several loved ones. He turned to music for healing and to help him sort through the painful and unexpected experiences that were thrust upon him.
I learned to put my problems on a melody and took off from there. I’ve been trying to find myself through my music.

“My Dance” is the latest single from YvngPope, available worldwide on all major streaming services. The track opens with a looped sample of a bluesy guitar riff. From there, a classic 808-style beat drops for a low and slow Trap groove. As the mellow guitar part rides the beat, the rapper slides smoothly through different rap techniques. He moves from a mellow mumble rap to some impressive lyrical chopping and then onto an Emo Trap melodic verse. In the song’s bridge he introduces some nice harmonies and a touch of auto-tune rap. It’s a cool sound from a versatile and talented emcee.
